In Japan, kendama tournaments are held regularly. A player’s score is achieved through performing tricks, which are worth various amounts of points.
Scoring is done through levels, starting at the easiest level, and continuing to the next level upon its completion. For each level, the player must successfully perform the trick at least once in ten attempts. They also must perform the trick for the level prior twice in ten attempts, and the trick in the level below that three times in ten attempts. For levels six through one, an extra trick, the moshikame, has to also be successfully executed.
